|  FEB 13TH LINCOLN DAY DINNER & SILENT AUCTION HONORS OUR MILITARY
The Lincoln Day Dinner, ICRP's major fundraiser was well attended this year as always. Gathering at the OH Elks Lodge, attendees were treated to a keynote speach by Attorney General Rob McKenna.
We were delighted to be the venue of choice for both Island Country Auditor Sheila Crider and Island County Sheriff Mark Brown's announcement of their intent to seek reelection. Of course we wish them every success and will work hard to help retain their offices.
Local, State and Federal candidates seeking election to office in November were in attendance and in addition to their formal speeches, the crowd was able to spend time before the event chatting with them and getting to know them a little better on a personal level. In attendance were, Kelly Emerson, Island County Commissioner Dist 3; Michael Widener and Craig Williams who are running for US Senate; and John Koster and Fortune who are running for US Congress.
Our 2nd annual Republican of the Year award was announced. The award went to City Councilman Jim Campbell. Jim works hard on behalf of our party and for the City of Oak Harbor. Our heartiest congratulations Jim!
Of course, we raised funds with our silent, live and dessert auctions. For the second time we had our falconry adventure up for bidding. We also had a day at the beach, a catered dinner prepared in your home, a day to spend on the Sound, and a foot ball signed by Clint Didier, former Washington Redskin and candidate for Senate, just to name a few.
A good time was had by all. We thank you for your support and hope to see you in 2011.
